Mathilde FORT

Hi there!

Welcome to my webpage!

I am a developmental psychologist, working on language acquisition and processing in infants children and adults. After a Master in Cognitive Sciences obtained in 2008, I did a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and Psycholinguistics at the University Grenoble Alpes (Grenoble, France). After a four-months internship at the MARCS Laboratories in Sydney  (Autralia) with Cathy Best, I did a first post-doc at the Ecole Normale supérieure in Paris (France) working with Sharon Peperkamp between 2012 and 2013. Then I did a second post-doc at the U. Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain) working with Nuria Sebastian Gallés from 2014 until 2017. My last post-doc was with Olivier Pascalis back in U. Grenoble Alpes for the year 2018. Since September 2018 I am a Lecturer at the U. Lyon 1, at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives Marc Jeannerod.

My research interests are basically the followings:

-the emergence of cross-modal correspondences (sound-symbolism, iconicity)  in language learning

-the emergence of multimodal associations (visual and auditory speech) in language learning

-the role of top-down and bottom-up attention as a mechanism for language learning

keywords: audiovisual speech processing, language, infancy, childhood, adulthood,
